If you're interested in joining Reading Rowing Club, make contact through one of our Squads (details on the pages below) or - if you're new to rowing - check out our Learn To Row courses. For Club rules, membership forms and prices, check the Members section.
The Mens Squad includes athletes who want to train regularly and race at national events; and athletes who are less experienced who want to develop their skills and competitive edge.
The Women’s squad caters for all levels of rowing experience from those who have just graduated from our new Learn to Row courses to those who have national squad aspirations.
Everyone gets plenty of opportunities to race at their own level, with success, and have some fun along the way.
The Junior squad has had a great number of successes at regional, national and international level in recent years. We offer rowing throughout all age categories (13 to 18), for both boys and girls, and cater to a variety of commitment levels, from novice to the sport to those with GB triallist ambitions.
With over 60 members the current men’s Masters Squad is thriving and we always welcome new potential “Vets” (27 years+). Our strong and competitive core trains and races hard throughout the year – especially across the Masters C to H categories. Others row and scull mainly for fun and fitness on one of the Thames’ finest stretches.
As a cox, it’s down to you to steer the best course and motivate your crew during training and racing; and a good cox can be the difference between winning and losing! At Reading, we’re situated on a fantastic stretch of the water, a perfect place to learn or develop your coxing skills.
If you love the idea of learning to row but can’t commit to heavy training regimes - or don’t fancy elite competitive racing- then the Explore Squad of Reading Rowing Club is for you
